Match Report
The Crusaders missed a good chance to cement their lead in the table with a sloppy performance against strugglers Hindley.
The home team was dominant in the first half but wasted a number of gilt-edged chances to establish an unassailable lead. Will Owen opened the scoring with a well taken drive and when Jack Sanders doubled it from Curtis Fletcher's corner it looked like the points could only go one way.
Hindley pulled a goal back just before half time but Curtis headed in Sam Grady's cross early in the second half to restore the lead. The game then began to get niggly and the Crusaders' passing game deserted them as they became embroiled in silly disputes over every decision. Possession was squandered too easily and Hindley took full advantage scoring three unanswered goals. The Crusaders barely threatened to score and as frustration took hold tried too hard to make an impression, Hindley taking every opportunity to waste time.
It was plain that the Crusaders had let themselves down as a unit and some players could and should have done better. An exception was James Dady who barely put a foot wrong and deservedly won the man of the match award.
Final score: Crusaders 3- 4 Hindley Juniors.
