Match Report
Unlucky to lose this match we may have been but really we didn't do enough to deserve to win it either. With the entire squad available for selection we couldn't blame tiredness but perhaps the need to give everybody a game affected consistency.
The first half was very even but we failed to put enough pressure on the Creation goal even though the wind was in our favour. A few half-chances were all we had but the same could be said of the opposition until a throw was allowed to fall invitingly in our area unchallenged for an easy opener.
We struck back early in the second when Matthew's cross-shot went in off the far post but then Creation were allowed too much time to shoot and when Clayton spilled the shot it was turned in from close range. We pressed for an equaliser but were guilty of leaving gaps in front of the defence and Chris and Lewis had to be alert on several occasions. The equaliser came from Paul's intelligent use of the ball, cutting across field to put Brad in the clear. His first shot was parried but the second was put away at the near post. Again it was failing to pressure the shot which allowed a third Creation goal, a throw from the left was initially cleared but struck home unchallenged from an impossible angle. A lifeline was offered in injury time when Brad was barged over in the area but Matthew was unsuccessful from the spot.
Nobody had a particularly bad game but most could have done better. Exceptions were Bill who could have had more influence had he not been injured Paul and Callum, whose brilliant volley could have won the game had it not missed by a few inches. The three centre backs worked extremely hard and it was Lewis who deservedly edged Chris and Aidan for the man-of-the-match.

Final Score:-Leigh Genesis Creation 3-2 Crusaders .
